Meet the Designer Masa Kitani

A native Chicagoan, Masa Kitani started sewing at the age of 7. Her father taught her how to hand sew where she made dresses for her dolls. By the time she went to High School she already knew she wanted to do something in Fashion and Accessories.

Masa studied at Harper College Palentine Illinois where she received he Associates in Fashion, Art and Floral Design. During her college years in Illinois she was able to compete in some of the largest fashion design competitions in the Midwest, National, and International and won 1st place and Grand Prizes for her exceptional talent.

After college she landed a job with Ringling Bros Circus at the age of 23. At Ringling Bros Circus she created costumes and cared for the wardrobe on the road.

Once the tour was over she moved to the Big Apple and has worked in the fashion and costume design industry for the past 12 years.

Using her creativity and talents she has been drawn to niche markets making unique designs.

She started making aprons, for her friend Ashley Simone for her web series Foodgasm. These are not your typical aprons. It’s for the hostess with the mostess, meant to be worn for all your get togethers, holiday parties, and group occasions.

She also launched her one of a kind patchwork yoga bags for beginner to experience Yogi’s.

Since costumes are also a passion of hers she is continuing to grow her brand with Rhythm Gymnastic Costumes for State, National and International competition.
